Although it is in the 21 century, arranged marriage still exist in China. I think part of the reason is because that it is harder to get married nowadays, finding the perfect match. The class differences in China is great right now. Being the rich people very rich and the poor people extremely poor, they create a large difference in class. so some parents are worried about choosing the right mate for their daughter that has the same background, both economically, finacially and educational wise. I think part of the reason that they still have arranged marriages is because that the elderlys always say that they have more expericnes in finding the true mate than you, that love marriages wiill eventually always end up gettinga divorce. The divorce rate is horrible in China right now, gooing from 3.8% in 1985 and now it has reached to up 24%, having the world questions, what is going on with China?
I also wonder about that question. I think that is a serious one. I know a couple in China who were married for 20 years and yet get a divorce.
Marriages in China are important issues. With the housing being a big pressure for young couples and things like that, it's a questionalble thing to ask.
With the financial crisis going on in China right now, that the prices of everything are going sky high, with the educational hardship that are going on in China right now, that colleges are harder and harder to get into. and with the housing market being sky high, of prices of everything is so high, is this the right thing that is goiong on in China? What is happening to China?
