Proveing They Can Hunt For Their Tribe

In the Amazon for a man in the Matis Tribe to prove himself worthy to hunt he has to go through four trials. The first stage is they have to dump bitter poison directly into their eyes in order to improve their vision and enhance the senses. The next couple trials include being beaten and whipped. The last trial which is the most painful for them is inoculation of the Phyllomedusa biocolor, which is just a long way of saying a small poisonous frog. After they burn an area of their skin, the frog toxin is injected with a wooden needle. They say the poison is supposed to increase strength and endurance, however while the poison is in their system it causes extreme lightheaddedness, lots a vomiting, and violent relieving of the bowles. Once the boys prove themselves able to withstand these trials, they perform them every time before going out on a hunt. Also here is a picture of the very poisonous frog they use to inject themselves with on their last trial. I just thought it was crazy how small it was!
