Teacher's Dictatorship in China

When I was reviewing the PPT slides for this class, one thing popped into my eyes: "why not take this class, why to take this class". That's kinda shocking to me because in China, the school set up the program and courses you have to take, for everyone it's the same, unless you are extraodinarily smart you jump the entire grade, other wise you don't have to worry about selecting for classes at all--well, until you get to like the second year of college or something. But through our elementry, middle and high school in China, it's always everybody takes the same classes your school chose for you--not exceptions. In part it's good because you don't have to worry about selecting for classes and you don't have to worry about if you made the perfect class schedule, since everyone's the same, you just have to work hard on whatever delievered to you. It's also good because all your friends stayed in the same classroom for like 3 years and every one has the same classes, that you could know exactly where your classmates are and make sure they don't catch up on you. Every one know each other so well that you have many friends--spending everyday all day together. People in the same calssroom can study together also. It's disadvantages are people don't have the freedom to choose their own classes, if they couldn't catch up or exceed the ability most people have, they couldn't do anything about it.
Professors kind of have the dictator attitude about their students. They won't politely ask them if they wanted to take the class at all---they will kick their butt out if they didn't get good grades or didn't show up in class.
