Anthropology and Archaeology

Anthropology is the study of man, what he is like and how he lives and behaves. Archaeology is the study of the past of man and the past civilizations.

One of anthropology’s greatest strengths is its total picture and view of humanity. They look at man from the beginning of time to him at present time. Archaeologists have been accused of being insensitive toward living people. They construct past human behavior from material remains. In general they want to better understand. Anthropology studies more about the living, and their philosophy is because we are humans.

Anthropology studies people and primates, researching their culture, physical, and social development over time. Archaeology investigates history by finding and studying the remains and objects a society leaves behind. In closing it is said that all archaeologists are anthropologists but not all anthropologists are archaeologists.
