Pros and Cons of breast feeding

What are the benefits of breast feeding for the mother? A mother that breast feeds needs at least 500 more calories per day, therefore you can eat more and you will loose weight faster. It is easy and convenient to breast feed. You can even snooze when feeding, there is also nothing to buy so you can save some money. There have been studies done and it is proven that women are less at risk for breast and ovarian cancer.

What are some of the benefits of breast feeding for the baby? It helps protect the baby from colds, viruses, and ear infections. If one of these conditions occur it will be less severe due to the protection from the mothers milk. The mother’s breast milk is easier for the baby to digest. It helps the baby’s brain grow and develop. In general it is healthier for both the mother and the baby.

Here are some of the cons of breast feeding a baby. It definitely is time consuming and does not stop at night. Even if someone wants to help, you still have to pump it. Breast feeding takes a lot of energy, and you might feel very fatigue. This doesn’t come naturally and you will have to learn to process and there might be problems. Last, if you are a working mother, you might find it challenging to schedule your nursing’s.
