The Untold Story of Evolution

The United Kingdom media source, The Guardian, published a story called, "the Untold Story of Evolution." While the article didn't necessarily introduce any new information regarding specifics of evolution to its readers, it presented the story of evolution in a new, unabashed way. The article refers to the tale of evolution as the greatest story never told. Censored my politics and controversial stances, the single volume six-million year narrative of humanity has been hidden from the average world citizen.

While each account of the specifics of evolution vary greatly, the common consensus is that the story began in Africa somewhere between five and seven million years ago. One of the first accounts of evolution provided was title, "The Descent of Man," written in 1871 by Charles Darwin. As a general statement, the average anthropologist agree as to the connection between man and apes. The article goes on to, in extreme depth, describe the scientific connection between humans and ape. Through a time-line provided in the article, the average reader would be able to better understand evolution and the reasons for which the story is often absent in the average day conversations.

Many wonder why religions can so easily reject the concept of evolution despite the extensive evidence which has been produced on the subject. One concept which is discussed is the actual acceptance and modification of evolution into religious beliefs. While the average Catholic would stand firm behind their belief of creationism, younger generation Catholics have modified personal beliefs to accommodate the ideas of evolution. The main beliefs regarding creationism still remain, however they are becoming more commonly applied in teachings from a symbolic point of view. The story of Adam and Eve is thought by many Catholics to be the symbol of the creation of the ability of man to distinguish right from wrong. The new ways in which evolution is being viewed shows the cultural changes taking place in modern day society, and through such the continuation of evolution today.
