Anthropology in Engineering
After discussing how anthropology applies to our field of study, I began to think how anthropology really does apply to engineering. Like i said in class engineers need to consider the local culture and traditions before they come up with a solution to a specific problem. But another application that that not only applies to engineering but to most professions is the training necessary to do the job correctly. A lot of early on training is shadowing experienced people in the field and taking note of what they are doing. Shadowing could easily be related "studying" the profession and learning the different ins and outs. Each and every profession is going to have different responsibilities or exceptions and when taking on a new job you need to study these just as an anthropologists would study a new culture.
