Harvest of Fear

Harvest of Fear is a document on genetically modified organisms. It address issues such as food

production, how it could possible be improved by GMOs (genetically modified foods). But some

industries want to test GMOs on developing countries. I think this related to Steve Langers

Studies on the rice crops in Bali. The government is in a big debate about genetically modified

food. Americans didn’t know that they were even eating this food till the corn had been shipped to Europe. Europeans were outraged. They started dumping the food. Mad cow disease had already hit in Europe. So Europeans distrust in GMOs was high. The Food and Agriculture Department rates at a seven in trust from the American people. I think personally GMOs needs more test ran besides on lab animals. We don’t know the effects of this food. It’s only been on the market since the 90’s. We don’t know if people are getting sick or dying from this.

No I don’t support the use of GMOs in our country or undeveloped countries. I don’t thinks it right to give starving people food that could be harmful. I think that giving them those foods is using them as test dummies. This is morally wrong. I think we need to further test the food and see what harmful effects they have on human. It damaged the butterfly; it could have effects on us later on. We already tried to improve food crops overseas. That was very unsuccessful. The rice crops failed. I don’t think we know enough to release these foods.
