From what I understood from this article, it would cost more money for the tax payers to turn an open field into a residential area. This was surprising information for me; I would not have thought this would be the case. This puts people in quite a predicament, what do we do when people need a place to live?
In my opinion turning a beautiful open field into an ugly residential area is a terrible idea. I understand that people need a place to live, but couldn’t they just move somewhere else? Not only is it creating more taxes for people, but it is also destroying the homes of many animals. They need a place to live too, who are we to kick them out of their homes? Not only does this affect the wild animals, but also the domesticated ones. They will have much less land to roam and graze on if we put a bunch of houses on their field. From what I have learned in this class ranchers need a lot of land to graze their cattle on. In Wyoming it takes a long time for the grasses to grow back after the cattle have eaten it. If we take away all the free space, where will the cattle roam?
